Careers at ICONI – Meet our Software Developer, Adam Carville

Industry experience is invaluable for students as it gives them a wealth of experience of the fast-paced world of business, with fixed deadlines and the need to quickly understand a customer’s needs. The ICONI team were extremely happy to welcome Adam, providing challenges, opportunities and support throughout the year.

As Adam explained, “It’s been an incredibly valuable experience working with ICONI’s highly experienced Development and Operations teams. I’ve learnt how to manage my workload, particularly in challenging situations when deadlines had to be met, no matter what! I’ve also learnt how to interpret customer requirements in order that I can develop a practical solution that delivers exactly what they need.

I love working within a close-knit team where we all have similar attitudes to work. It’s also great to know if I’m struggling with something, or need advice, I know I can count on my colleagues to happily lend a hand and support me. Working for a niche company means you get to contribute more and immediately see the impact of your work.”

Niall Doherty, ICONI’s Chief Technology Officer, explains, “It is so important to understand that whilst what you learn at University is important, it is only one side of the equation. Business is fast-paced and results driven: we have to deliver optimum benefits for our customers. Adam has turned his passion for software into developing empowering solutions for people, alongside becoming an integral member of our team.”
