CPL Learning & Development Case Study

CPL Learning & Development is part of the CPL Group and is headquartered in Dublin with offices in the North and South of Ireland and across the UK and Europe.  The company provides training and consultancy in Professional Development and Health & Safety and was a Provider on behalf of SOLAS for the Irish Government’s Momentum programme.

Support is offered to jobseekers who have been unemployed for a minimum of 12 months. These individuals are referred to CPL via the DSP.

The Momentum programme funds education and training of jobseekers to gain new skills to access job opportunities.  CPL contacted ICONI as they required a Skill & Learning solution that tracked individual job seekers from initial referral through to completion of their allocated course.

CPL selected ICONI’s CEP to be developed into their Learner Management System (LMS) as it offered them a clear and easy-to-use bespoke solution. ICONI began a high and low level analysis on the programme with CPL to fully understand what was required with the LMS. This allowed ICONI to design the LMS around CPL’s operational processes.

The CEP LMS was designed to capture all the information needed as part of the working guidelines, including recording every participant’s engagement being tracked at every stage of the programme (pre-start, active and complete).

The solution needed to be able to record all the support the participant received including 1-2-1 appointments, group based training, interviews, job placements. In addition to this, all expenses and finance claims needed to go through the LMS.

ICONI successfully delivered CEP within the agreed timeframe and the programme successfully launched.  The advisors at CPL know from moment they log in all urgent tasks required, where their jobseekers are on their journey to employment and whether or not their jobseekers are actively engaging on the programme.
